Description | Carton 1895, 6: 'cinq fragments proviennent de la même inscription.' Davin 1929, 670: 'Les deux autres fragments ont été lus par le docteur Carton et enregistrés au CIL 8.22026 comme faisant partie d’une même borne. 'À première vue, en effet, les lettres de l’une sont très voisines de celles de l’autre comme forme et détails d’exécution. Mais les lettres de la partie inférieure ont 0 m. 09, les lettres du fragment au-dessus 0 m. 08 seulement. D’autre part, le fragment DIVI GORDIANI a 1 m. 34 de circonférence, 0 m. 43 de diamètre, tandis que le fragment RESTITVIT a 1 m. 58 de circonférence, 0 m. 50 de diamètre. Il devient beaucoup plus difficile d’admettre dans ces conditions que ces deux fragments appartiennent à la même borne. Je serais assez porté à croire que le deuxième fragment appartient à une borne de Caracalla. Immédiatement au-dessus des lettres TVIT se trouve en effet, non pas le mot PROCOS, mais le partie inférieure de six traits verticaux pouvant donner IIIIPP. La distance au 63e mille n’est que de 1.200 mètres environ, trop courte de 300 mètres.' |
